Purpose

This Returns & Refund Policy explains how Sound Base Education manages returns, replacements and refunds for products purchased through the Sound Base Education Shopify store. This policy operates alongside the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available under the ACL.

Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, customers are entitled to the remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a remedy is required, Sound Base Education will provide a replacement or refund, as appropriate and in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

Change of Mind

Sound Base Education does not offer refunds, exchanges or store credits for:

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect product selection
  • Products that are no longer required

This policy does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Products

Please inspect your order as soon as practicable after delivery. If a product arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, please contact Sound Base Education within 7 days of receiving your order. To help us assess your request, please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photographs of the product and, where applicable, its packaging

Where appropriate, Sound Base Education will provide a replacement or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

Replacement or Refund

Where a product does not meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law, Sound Base Education will determine the appropriate remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the circumstances, this may be a replacement or a refund.

Normal Classroom Wear and Tear

Magnetic word building kits and related literacy resources are designed for regular educational use. Normal wear and tear resulting from reasonable classroom, intervention, specialist or home-learning use is not considered a product fault and does not entitle the purchaser to a replacement or refund under this policy.

Replacement Components

Replacement components for magnetic word building kits may be purchased separately, subject to availability.

Return Process

If a return is approved, Sound Base Education will provide return instructions. Products should not be returned until return arrangements have been confirmed by Sound Base Education. Where required, returned products may be assessed before a replacement or refund is approved.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution. Where appropriate under the Australian Consumer Law, Sound Base Education may provide a replacement product instead of a refund.

Exclusions

This policy does not apply to damage resulting from:

  • Misuse or abuse
  • Improper storage
  • Unauthorised modification or alteration
  • Normal wear and tear resulting from regular educational use

Products returned without prior contact may be delayed while return arrangements are confirmed.
